The last two weeks have been very hectic for various reasons, one being clearing a site in the garden for a construction project. As such I haven’t done any running for just over two weeks. But as of the end of this weekend the site is now cleared ready for the builders and you know what that meant….
I got out for a run. And what a run. It was a full moon with a clear sky and was lovely and chilly, approx 4C. It was fantastic running through my local woods at 9pm with no need for a head torch. The shadows play tricks on your eyes and the woods looked almost like a new environment, not somewhere I go pretty much every day. Runs like that needs to be appreciated as full moons only come round every four weeks and quite often in Scotland it is cloudy or wet on the actual night. Having been a bit jaded recently this run certainly gave me a boost and reminded me what it is I love about running in general and trail running in particular. Your only here once, get out there!
